FAQ

How do your shirts fit? Should I size up or down?

Our performance fishing shirts and button-ups are designed with an athletic, regular fit—tailored enough to avoid excess bulk while giving you full range of motion for casting and movement on the boat.

  • Most anglers find they run true to size.
  • If you prefer a relaxed, loose-draping fit for maximum airflow in humid conditions, or plan to layer a thermal beneath in cooler weather, we recommend sizing up one size.

How does the UPF 50+ sun protection work?

Our garments are constructed using specialized high-density weaves that block98% of harmful UVA and UVB rays(UPF 50+ rating). Unlike standard sun shirts that rely solely on surface chemical coatings which wash out over time, the protection is built directly into the fabric matrix. You get maximum sun defense from first cast to sunset without needing sunscreen beneath the shirt.

How do I wash and care for my gear so it lasts?

To protect the quick-dry fibers and technical weave:

  • Machine wash cold (30°C / 85°F or below) on a gentle cycle with like colors.
  • Use standard mild detergent. Do not use fabric softeners or bleach, as softeners coat technical fibers and reduce moisture-wicking and breathability.
  • Hang to dry in the shade (the fabric dries in minutes). If using a dryer, tumble dry on the lowest heat setting only. Do not iron directly over graphics or prints.

How does the fabric handle saltwater and fish blood?

Our quick-dry performance fabric is synthetic and hydrophobic, meaning it resists absorbing moisture and stains compared to standard cotton.

  • For saltwater: Rinse with fresh water as soon as possible after your trip to prevent salt crystals from stiffening the fibers.
  • For fish blood or grime: Spot-treat immediately with cold water and mild dish soap or liquid detergent before throwing it in the wash. Avoid hot water on blood stains, as heat sets the protein into the fiber.

Will the fabric shrink after washing or drying?

No. Because our shirts are crafted from premium technical polyester and moisture-wicking synthetic blends, they will not shrink when washed according to care instructions (cold water wash and low-heat or air drying).

Does the quick-dry feature work in high humidity?

Yes. Our fabrics feature active capillary action, pulling sweat and water away from your skin and spreading it across the outer surface area of the garment. Even in muggy environments like the Florida Keys or tropical North Queensland, the lightweight, breathable weave facilitates rapid evaporation so the shirt doesn't cling or feel heavy when you sweat.

What if I'm in between sizes or buying different styles?

If your measurements fall between two sizes, it comes down to how you like to wear your gear:

  • For Technical Long-Sleeve Tees & Sun Hoodies: Go with your smaller size for an athletic, closer-to-skin fit that wicks sweat instantly and won't snag on gear, or your larger size if you want loose airflow and room for a base layer.
  • For Button-Up Fishing Shirts: We recommend taking the larger size. The button-ups feature a structured collar and chest cut—sizing up ensures you have complete shoulder freedom for casting without tension across the chest or buttons pulling.
  • Quick Tip: Measure your favorite well-fitting shirt flat from armpit to armpit (chest width) and compare it directly to our size chart before ordering.
